Garden Time's story began in 1956 when Harry Troelstra and his wife emigrated from Holland. They began their life in America farming until 1967 when Harry purchased Oudekerk's Garden Center on Dix Avenue in Glens Falls, NY. Within a few years, the business had grown considerably and by 1975 Harry moved the business to its current location on Quaker Road.
