Alamosa Concrete was started by brothers Allan & David Cook in 1974. The company expanded and diversified incorporating as Alcon Construction, Inc. in 1980 and focusing on concrete, metal buildings and structural steel. In addition to self-performing work in those areas still, we now provide overhead door and general contracting services.
New Mexico Laws allow a homeowner to act as the general contractor for constructing or altering their primary residence and obtain required project permits without becoming a licensed contractor. The homeowner must comply with all provisions of CILA, regulations, standards and codes including requirements for workers compensation insurance. If hiring employees homeowners must perform all Taxation & Revenue Department reporting requirements. All homeowner's subcontractors are required to be licensed and permitted their own work.
