The owner, Mike Truman, started working in his fathers garage door company, in the summers, when he was 15 years old in 1963.
Upon graduation from college Mike went to work for Clopay Corporation, now the largest manufacturer of garage doors in the United States.
In 1987 Mike and his wife Cathy formed Truman Door Systems to market sectional roll up doors that was then predominantly one-piece wood garage door market.
In 1997, Mike formed DoorTech Industries to manufacture sectional steel, wood and aluminum garage doors. In 2009 both companies were sold to the bank and Mike retired.
In 2013, Mike and his Son, Matt, formed DoorMax Garage Door Services to bring their years of knowledge and expertise to help homeowners with a satisfaction guarantee and Lifetime Warranty for the largest moving and most visible aspect of their homes.
During the course of his career Mike's companies have manufactured and installed over 50,000 sectional overhead doors.
