I got my start in the construction field working with my father. My father was a heavy equipment operator who did finish carpentry as a sideline, so I guess I would say, I grew up in the field. I have been working in the field for the past 35 years.
The two things I like best about my job are meeting new people and having a constantly changing work load. They say variety is the spice of life, and Handyman work sure provides that.

Western Maine door was started in Western Maine back in the 1970's. Over the years the business was sold and moved over to the White Mountains in North Conway NH. At that time New Hampshire was added to the name and the company became Western Maine & NH Overhead door. After 17 years the business was purchased by one of the employees who decided to expand the company's reach and product offerings. With all the new products, services and certifications added to the company, a face lift and distinctive name was in order. This was to help set us apart from our competitors in the area who used similar names. This is when the company's name was changed to Alpha Overhead Door LLC.
Overhead Door Options was incorporated in September 2005 by Center Harbor Resident Brad Leighton. Brad and his wife Lynn had always worked together until they sold their business in 2003. When the garage door business became available Brad found it intriguing and was confident that they could make it work. Fortunately the employees were willing to come on board and be a part of this new team effort with their 30 years combined experience. In 2010 the business added an additional sales associate, Nick Leighton, making this a true family affair, Nick being Brad's older son and Lindsey Leighton, Nick's wife, in 2013.
New Hampshire laws do not require a contractor making home improvements or constructions in New Hampshire to have a state license. Licensure at the state level is required for electrical and plumbing. A homeowner should check if the project complies with local city or county building codes.
