I started my plumbing apprenticeship under the auspices of Ray Gramley, Gramley Plumbing & Heating, in 1957 and when he retired, Duane (Jake) Boos and I purchased it, keeping the Gramley name until 1969 when I officially became Bill George Plumbing. So even though this name has been around for 44 years, I can honestly say I've served the good people of northwest Illinois for over 50 years.
As I approach retirement, my oldest grandson, Kyle Williams, is gradually taking over. He's been working with me summers and holidays since he was fourteen and has a degree in Accounting from North Park in Chicago. He asked if he could work with me after graduation "until he decided what he wanted to do" and fortunately for me and for all my customers, he decided he wanted to become a plumber and eventually take over the family business.
