Somerset Plumbing began as a kid's dream who wanted to follow the footsteps of his respected relatives and become a plumber himself. Our owner started from the ground up by working in a small family-owned supply house that catered to the plumbing issues of homeowners before Home Depot opened in NJ. Over time, he became accustomed to the working of different faucets, piping, and toilet parts. He heard stories of contractors who took advantage of the people by never calling or showing up that left them in complete despair. He wanted to make a difference in the lives of people who were facing severe plumbing troubles. As he worked on repairing broken parts, he promised that he would get his apprenticeship and license so that he could provide repairs himself. Since then, he hasn't looked back and has worked on every kind of commercial and residential plumbing job before opening Somerset Plumbing.

However, construction permits are issued, as before, by the municipalities in which contractors are working.
A Contractor must be sure to use a written contract if a project costs more than $500.
Any person who makes improvement project of a home he(she) or his(her) family member owns is not required to registered as contractor.
Before hiring a contractor, make sure that they have a valid license and that their skills are appropriate for the job you are planning.
