My dad was a service plumber, and my brothers and I started working with him while still in grade school. Dad was a tough task-master, but a good teacher. My first job was going to the truck and bringing my dad the tool he asked for. That's how I learned what the various tools were called. Then I would watch and listen as he showed me how the tool was used. When I was ready, he would watch and listen as I used the tool. By high school, my older brother and I had started a business installing sprinklers during summer vacation. I later went into new construction plumbing, which brought me from California to Phoenix during the early 90s boom years. I eventually returned to my service plumber roots, bringing to it my diverse background and experience that have prepared me for pretty much any job that comes my way, whether big or small.
