After years of supervising large projects in Washington, D.C., Dale Comstock Sr. saw that there was an abundant need for water treatment in Shenandoah Valley. Envisioning the success this need would create for a plumbing company, he started a local company in 1973 servicing residents and businesses in the Eastern Panhandle of West Virginia under the name of Comstock Plumbing. After years of hard work, Mr. Comstock decided to retire. His son, Dale (Sonny) Comstock Jr. took over the business in 1999. Continuing the family business Sonny has started training his son, Dale (Chip) Comstock III for when he retires. Chip looks to continue the success of Comstock Plumbing as it remains one of the most well-known plumbing companies in the area.
West Virginia does not require a homeowner to be a licensed contractor if they are doing work on their home. The homeowner must state this prior to commencing any work when applying for a building permit. If the homeowner does not do all the work himself, he must hire a contractor who is licensed by the State of West Virginia.
For more information or to check if a contractor has a valid state license, contact with the WV Division of Labor at (304) 558-7890 or visit Contractor Search page
