I moved up in the Roofing Industry by learning how to Set Sheets and Mop Down the Fiberglass Paper. Then as the Industry Transition into Modified Bitumen Torch Down Rubber. I leaned how to install the Two different types of Rubber (Smooth and Granulated) I got into Commercial Roofing and learned how to install insulation, E.P.D.M. and T.P.O. Roofing Systems. I moved up by becoming a Foreman. I worked doing Shingle Roofs in The Suburbs in Bucks County, Delaware County and Montgomery County. We were doing work in Central and South Jersey but most of the work in Jersey were Customers Second Homes or Referrals. In 2015 I moved down the Shore and was still Running my Business in Philadelphia. In the Last Year I've been focusing on Building the Business Mostly in South Jersey and Still Helping Life Long Customers in Philadelphia and the Suburbs.
New Jersey state laws require any contractors or subcontractors who sell or make home improvements to be registered with compliance to "Contractors' Registration Act".
However, construction permits are issued, as before, by the municipalities in which contractors are working.
A Contractor must be sure to use a written contract if a project costs more than $500.
Any person who makes improvement project of a home he(she) or his(her) family member owns is not required to registered as contractor.
Before hiring a contractor, make sure that they have a valid license and that their skills are appropriate for the job you are planning.
