We began in May of 1988. We started in San Angelo TX and have expaned to all of West Texas. Our locations are in Abilene, Midland/Odessa, Lubbock, and Amarillo. We all serve Eastern New Mexico. We do all types of roofing.
Our founder, Kent Elliott (March 11, 1919 - November 16, 2012), worked in sales for Harrison Roofing Company before starting Kent Elliott Roofing Company after a destructive hail storm hit the San Angelo area in 1966. Mr Elliott was a true business professional who believed in community service. Our company culture has always valued our employees. They are highly trained and knowledgeable people, in whom we have entrusted our hard-earned reputation, and whose families have become an extension of our own. From the start of our business, Kent Elliott understood the importance of honesty, integrity, and community service. These qualities of personal character still matter to us and are the foundation upon which our new owner, Brandon Smythe, steadfastly maintains the Kent Elliott Roofing Company into the first half of the 21st Century.
Fat Matt was established to fix a few roofs after a particularly bad storm. After we replaced the roofs of a few friends and families, we realized we had the knowledge to help others in the community. We were already bonded and insured, so we decided to extend our services beyond our circle. Because of our involvement in the community and our dedication to safety and quality, we have become one of the premier roofing companies in our area. We are honored to be your roofing contractor, and we look forward to showing you great customer service and high quality roofs.
We have been in the roofing business for over 8 years and about 2 years ago decided to open our own company to be able to be one on one with our customers ,and to make sure they receive the best quality and service. We are a family owned and operated business; who look forward to helping the Big Country and surrounded areas with all their roofing needs.
Briercroft, Inc. was founded in 1981 (incorporated in 1986) by Tim Dickenson, it's Owner and President. The Briercroft Roofing division has performed full service roofing for over two decades in the Big Country area of west Texas. Under the leadership of our Roofing Division Manager, Marc Goodman, and Roofing Project Manager Caleb Jolly, we serve residential and commercial clients in a 100+ mile radius of Abilene / Taylor County.
Contractor licenses are issued by both the state licensing authority and the local licensing department. The Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) issues licenses to water well driller, electrical, HVAC contractors, but not plumber.
By offering to waive a deductible or promising discounts on all or part of a deductible, the contractor risks a fine of up to $ 2,000 and imprisonment of up to 6 months
In Texas, roofing contractors are not required to have a state license, but they can obtain a voluntary license through the Roofing Contractors Association of Texas (RCAT). Since roofing requires a high level of skill and the roof is a crucial part of a home, it is important to hire licensed professionals.
The RCAT licensing program was created to enhance consumer protection and build public trust in roofing contractors. This program aims to improve the knowledge and professionalism of roofers through voluntary self-regulation.
Licenses are issued to individuals, not companies. However, to be eligible for a license, an individual must own, manage, or operate a roofing company for at least three years. Afterward, the company can advertise its services as a licensed roofing contractor.
