R-Value Concrete Structures got its start when the owner Jake Vierzen attended the World of Concrete and was exposed to ICF's for the first time. He saw some great potential for the concept, but found that many people who were familiar with them as builders or subcontractors had a distaste for them due to poor installations, usually by do it yourselfers. Having 10 years in as a commercial poured wall contractor already he was that clearly there was nothing inherently wrong with the concept, so in 2004 he formed an installation company to fill the gap in the market for prefessional installers. Many, many pours and projects have taught them that the manufacturers recommendations are often not adequate, and helped them develop a system to ensure good installations every time.
When we got married in 2015 the dream of owning our own business began. Michael worked (as a technician and then a crew leader) for a window cleaning company that is nationally franchised. I (Shelli) have been the Financial Secretary of a large church in Hudsonville since 2011. We fell in love with the concept of working together and used the experience we gained to follow our dream. We love working together and helping homes regain their original beauty after the toll years of Michigan sun and snow can take. As homeowners ourselves, we understand the value of your home.
