At the age of 17 I started working in a restaurant for some side cash. One thing lead to another and before you know it, with in a year I became one of the head chefs in a 5 star restaurants. Things were going great, at the age of 19 I bought my first house and had a beautiful baby boy. There after, hours became a bit much and decided to change my career. I started to work with my family in the construction business and doing tree work on the side. This is when I knew I had a passion for the forestry agriculture. From this point on I shadowed every step of my mentor who has been in the business for 30 plus years. After becoming familiar and experienced with all phases of tree work, in 2008 I started to take on jobs of my own. I worked hard, managed my accounts, set goals, and was determined to become a leader in the forestry agriculture. New Jersey state laws require any contractors or subcontractors who sell or make home improvements to be registered with compliance to "Contractors' Registration Act".
However, construction permits are issued, as before, by the municipalities in which contractors are working.
A Contractor must be sure to use a written contract if a project costs more than $500.
Any person who makes improvement project of a home he(she) or his(her) family member owns is not required to registered as contractor.
