When we got married in 2015 the dream of owning our own business began. Michael worked (as a technician and then a crew leader) for a window cleaning company that is nationally franchised. I (Shelli) have been the Financial Secretary of a large church in Hudsonville since 2011. We fell in love with the concept of working together and used the experience we gained to follow our dream. We love working together and helping homes regain their original beauty after the toll years of Michigan sun and snow can take. As homeowners ourselves, we understand the value of your home.
We are a family owned and operated business. Since we began our business in 1996, we have served thousands of residential and commercial clients and our business has been blessed. We are big enough to be experts and small enough to care.
The Roof Dr. is one of a few Grand Rapids roofing contractors who carries a full residential builders license through the state as opposed to a trade specific license for only roofing. The education and training required to acquire a builder's license goes well beyond the scope of work we encounter on roofing projects. This is important because it gives us a broad base of knowledge to draw from when working to solve your roofing needs. In addition, shingle manufacturers offer a variety of continuing education courses for roofing contractors. These courses exist to teach and train installers the difference between acceptable and unacceptable roofing practices. Our installers are required to attend these courses, and reach the highest credentials available to them. Understanding how roof issues are created through improper installation gives us insight into how to correct these issues as well as prevent them.
