Barncord Renovations started out remodeling Freddy Mac foreclose homes. During this time period there was not a lot of work so we had to make due with what was available. Our company has been family owned and operated since my father started his roofing and construction business in 1964. After getting out of the Army I began working with him. Years later, he retired and I was joined by my sons. In the late 1980's we tried our hand in the city. My son Brian and I worked in New York for Morse Diesel. I worked as a Project Engineer and he as a Union Carpenter. We worked on the Philip Morris Building and the Staten Island Mall. After a couple of years the decision was made we would move to Florida with our children and take our family business with us. Almost 14 years ago we were joined by my granddaughter Amy, who is now a partner in the business and holds state licenses in roofing and general construction. We are all very grateful for our customers who have given us the opportunity to work together and we hope to continue for many generations.
I grew up helping my father, uncles and brothers. I watched, listened and helped out with tools, etc. I helped with as much as my little hands and legs could carry back then since the age of 15.
