Legacy Pre-Finishing
Legacy Pre-Finishing, Inc. is the continuation of 40+ years of pre-finishing history. Around 1970, McClure Lumber Company in Charlotte, NC purchased a pre-finishing machine and opened a stain line to coat cedar siding. In 1974, McClure Lumber employee Richard Sherrill purchased the equipment and started Riverside Machine Staining in Mt. Holly, NC. Riverside was known throughout the Southeast U.S. for producing high quality affordable pre-finished cedar and pine siding for wholesale and retail lumber distributors. In 1999, Riverside moved to Troutman, NC and became Northlake Pre-Finishing. Sherrill retired in July 2005 and sold the factory & equipment to a large national lumber distribution company. Legacy Pre-Finishing was incorporated in December 2009, and in February 2010, Legacy Pre-Finishing, Inc. purchased assets and inventory and opened as an independent pre-finisher at a new location in Troutman, NC.
