Since 1989, Royal Windows and Doors has been manufacturing the highest quality uPVC windows for the replacement and new construction markets. We were among the first few companies nationwide to introduce a very high quality, all welded vinyl window line. For the first time, vinyl windows could compete very favorably in looks, functionality and elegance, with the most recognized national brands of wood windows. Most importantly, our windows could outperform these famous brands in durability, ease of operation, and the elimination of the need for constant maintenance. Royal Windows and Doors provides you with the best warranty program in the industry. As an established local manufacturer in Long Island we are able to give all our customers superior service and support before and after the sale. We rely heavily on our reputation for quality and service to attract and retain new customers, and therefore take both very seriously.
Good Guys Contracting Corporation was established in 1999. The beginning years Good Guys was very successful doing custom renovations, interior & exterior. We formed a reputation for creating beautiful, unique, one of a kind designs which left our homeowners ecstatic. Good Guys' business was all referral based, as each completed project led to many happy customers and many more referrals and projects. As the interest on Long Island grew about James Hardie fiber cement siding, Good Guys began researching it and became aware of all the benefits of installing a "maintenance free" siding to ensure our customers less exterior remodeling, hassle and costs. As we became experienced at installing James Hardie products, we realized that our expertise could produce designs unlike anything else, combining the skill set of installation of the James Hardie products and our unique custom creations, we executed projects flawlessly. Our designs are prominent in the community.
Think over your project in detail. Before starting work, check the approved plans to make sure they fit your project exactly. Any changes to the project during construction or changes to the estimate must be documented and attached as amendments to the contract. These amendments are called “change orders” and must be signed by both you and the contractor.
Before you acknowledge the work done with the contractor, check that all contract work and any amendments have been done properly. Make sure your municipality or county's building supervision department has completed all or any necessary checks.
Obtaining a building permit:
Most home improvements require a building permit from the city building board. Your contract should state who will get the permits. Usually contractors do this because they know what permits are required. But homeowners are allowed to obtain permits on their own in most cases.
Building permits ensure that plans and specifications comply with State Building Regulations. Inspections during and after construction will ensure that the minimum applicable code requirements are met and therefore you are protected.
