Gunter began in 1950 when Roy Gunter, started a small pest business out of his home in Overland Park. As news of his great service spread, his business expanded into Kansas City, Johnson County and eventually into the entire metro area. Roy's first cousin, "L.R." Gunter, joined the business in the fall of 1958 and began calling the business "L.R. Gunter, the Bugman." His motto was "Ask your neighbor," since virtually all of his new business came through recommendations from satisfied friends and neighbors. Reggie Gunter passed away in 1979. His son-in-law, Norman O. Besheer, became President that year. In 1998, Norman's son, and Reggie's grandson -- Jay Gunter Besheer, became President. Reggie's great grandchildren (and Jay's children), Noah Gunter Besheer and Hayley Besheer Santell have continued the family ownership. Although Gunter has grown to become one of the largest and oldest pest companies in the Midwest, we strive to treat every client like they are our only client.
Missouri does not issue a statewide electrical, plumbing, handyman and general contractor license and delegates licensing and permitting process to the local permitting authority of the city the contractor works in. So a contractor you consider to hire must be in compliance with any local jurisdiction regulations.
