Our Origins
Every company has its origins, and ours begins with Gabino Gomez (father, teacher, and patriarch). Gabino developed a unique skill set in Jalisco, Mexico. Commencing at a very young age, he tilled the land and grew crops. Gabino brought that knowledge to the United States, specifically the Warner Center district of the San Fernando Valley when corn fields preceded the towering office buildings. Gabino was an outdoorsman who always loved to work with soil and plants, developing a "Green Thumb", and it wasn't long before he found his niche in gardening. First, he perfected the trade under Japanese-American master gardeners, who were the majority of gardeners at the time. Gabino went on to establish himself independently, and with his collective years of knowledge and skills, he thrived as a sole proprietor. Four out of six surviving children went on to expand their knowledge of the landscape and urban tree care business, and Gomez Landscape & Tree Care was born.
