John Traverso founded the company in 1981 (he was a nurseryman for six years at Orchard Nursery in Lafayette prior to that). John started out as a landscape contractor and trimmed trees in the winter to complement the landscaping. In 1986 he became a Certified Arborist, and later a Board Certified Master Arborist with the International Society of Arboriculture. He found out he really enjoyed doing tree work, and in 1989 he decided to concentrate exclusively on trees. The company now has 16 crew members including fourteen Certified Tree Workers, four of which are also Certified Arborists.
Cliff West established this business when he was a young man after he returned from serving in Vietnam. He gradually built his business from the ground up, eventually hiring laborers and then office staff. Cliff employs local residents and prides himself on excellent customer service.
