Custom Windows started manufacturing aluminum windows in The Heights in 1978 and is one of the oldest window dealers in Houston. Over the years as the industry has evolved, Custom Windows has added windows, doors and moving glass walls from high quality brands. We moved to our new location in 2017 and invite you to visit our showroom! While we no longer manufacture windows, the expertise and knowledge from decades of manufacturing excellence still guides our selection of products and services in ways normal window dealers cannot duplicate.
Mike first entered the window business in 1982, by installing windows throughout Houston. After gaining 15 years of experience, he started AWP in 1991 with a determination to focus on high quality service and a better customer experience. This dedication to personalized care has been the basis of our commitment to every client. Our company is family owned and operated. All of our installers have over 20 years of experience, so you can trust that the job will be completed thoroughly and correctly the first time. We stand by our products with warranties that rise above many in the industry, including a lifetime glass breakage warranty and a lifetime labor warranty. Our specific focus on windows has earned our company a respected name in the window industry. In addition to providing replacement windows with more energy efficient options, we also specialize in turnkey products for Galveston and other coastal areas that require Windstorm Certification from the State of Texas.
We are family owned and operated since 1958 and at the same location since we started. We specialize in custom shower doors, solar screens, custom mirrors, table top glass and so much more!
We started making soundproof window inserts in 2008. Initially, we used 1/4" thick acrylic for the panes of the inserts, but have upgraded to 1/4" laminated glass for better performance. The inserts fit on the inside of our customers' window openings between the windows treatment (blinds, shades, shutters, etc.) and their existing window. This creates a sound trap that blocks an average of 85% of sound. The inserts are removable, so they meet the requirements of ingress/egress for fire code.
