Schaaf Window
Schaaf Window Company began in June of 1959 as Schaaf Glass Company started by Fred Schaaf and his son George Sr. The father-son team began as a union glazing contractor for residential construction. In 1972, George Sr moved Schaaf Glass to a new building in Bridgeview, where he added new to the market steel entry doors for the residential builders. With the success of the steel and patio doors, customers were looking for a better supplier of windows. Schaaf Glass then added windows from Northern Sash and Door, now a part of JELD-WEN, out of Hawkins, Wisconsin to supply windows for the south suburbs of Chicago.
The residential sector of Schaaf Glass moved to another location in Bridgeview and changed its name to Schaaf Window Company. With steady growth through the 80's and 90's, Schaaf Window added millwork and interior doors to its products. In 2003, Schaaf Window moved to its current location in Tinley Park where it has become the largest independent window company in Illinois.
