Zen Windows was founded by Dan Wolt in 1998 after deciding it was time to create a totally new way of shopping for window replacement. a) No high-pressure sales tactics; Zen would keep everything relaxed and honest. b) No 3 hour in-home sales presentations; Zen would give online quotes. c) No expensive showrooms that add to their customer's costs; Zen uses excellent product demonstration videos that homeowners could watch on their own schedule. We're happy to say the response has been excellent and there are now over 35 Zen Windows locations. Homeowners tell us how much they like doing business with us and how easy we make the whole process. They love dealing directly with us - the owners - because they can tell how much we care about getting them great results at a reasonable price. This is exactly how we wanted owning a business to be - helping people improve their home, but without the uncomfortable sales calls and other stresses associated with traditional home improvement.
Oregon law requires all contractors and subcontractors performing work in the state of Oregon to be licensed.
Licensed contractors are bonded and insured and can be more easily held accountable in the event of a problem. Should you need information about whether your Windows contractor is to be licensed, contact Consumer Help Center by 503-378-4621. The most accurate way to find a license is with the CCB (Oregon Construction Contractors Board) license number. Contractors must include this number on their advertisements, including brochures, websites, and business cards. Ask your contractor for the number and verify contractor's recent history of disciplinary actions on https://www.ccb.state.or.us/search/ yourself if necessary.
